The Hunt For A Workamping Job
September 28th, 2009
Now that we're in Florida, it's time to find some work. In the best case scenario, you could have your next workamper job lined up before you leave your previous one. But unfortunately it doesn't always work out that way.
There are many different ways to search for a workamping jobs. Our first choice is to sign up to Workamper.com. For a small yearly subscription fee you can check their hotline that organizes by state for new jobs, post your resume, and get regular tips on workamping. They have a magazine subscription or you can do like we do and opt for the email only subscription. This is a good option if you, like us, don't have a permanent address.
Another way to go is happyvagabonds.com. They are a good site full of listings, but I have noticed that the job posting sites listed seem to be permanent and new ones don't get added often. So you might find yourself inquiring on one of these jobs, only to find that it was filled 2 years ago.
You can also give camp-host.com a try. It's operated by Recreation Resource Management or RRM. RRM privately manages a network of government owned campgrounds across the country. Most are volunteer positions and hook ups only. So make sure that you have other income options available.
If you're a workamping couple, you could try WorkingCouples.com. It's mostly jobs that are unrelated to workcamping, but they do have a few workcamper gigs as well. Some of the jobs are higher paying so you could, in theory, afford to park your RV and drive to work.
These links are just the beginning to finding your first workcamping gig. You can discuss this in our forum or just leave a comment below.
