Gearing up for the RV Supershow

RVs, accessories, special speakers, and campground reps. That's what you'll find at the 2010 Florida RV Supershow. Being held at Tampa which is about an hour away from us and having just about everything under the sun, we pretty much have no excuse not to go. The show is being held Wednesday the 14th through Sunday. This is one of the largest if not the largest RV shows in the country.
The show is presented by Florida RV Trade Association, or FRVTA for short, and their website promises all models shown are 2010 models and there will be every type of RV available.
Over 1,000 RVs will be on display and 350 booths exclusively for campgrounds and finance companies. Over the course of the show the days are filled with speakers talking on subjects on choosing the right RV to camping tips.
"But Jessica and Duncan", one might say, "There's no way that you can afford a new RV!". And right they would be! But there are many reasons to go that perk our ears. While we can't afford a new RV, we are in the market for something different. The pop up, while loyally serving it's purpose, was always meant to be a stepping stone. When we got rid of the fifth wheel, we had to get into something else quick, even if it wasn't quite what we were looking for. We were purely purchasing based on our budget and availability which didn't allow for much. So the pop up happened to be in the right place at the right time.
So since we've been in the pop up, we've been discussing what our next home will be. I like the hybrids and Jessica leans towards Class Cs. We're also playing around with the idea of buying a fixer upper, gutting it and making it our own like The Organic Sister is doing. Walking around at the show will give us the opportunity to see which attributes we like and which ones we can do without.
Another reason is to have the ability to walk around the campground booths and speak with them directly. If we're lucky we can have our next workamping gig set up before this season is over. I can't wait to go, it looks like it will be very informative with the chance to meet some cool people.
